You’ve probably noticed that when you’re creating a photo, you’re often tempted to just use the default photo editor to create a white background with an overly dark foreground.
In Photoshop, however, it’s possible to make a dark foreground of your photo even more appealing by using the photoshopped fill tool.
In this video tutorial, we’ll show you how to use photoshopping to bring a dark background into a light one.
To begin, you’ll need to open the photo you want to photoshop into a new photo editor, then click on the “edit” button.
Once the photo editor is open, you should see the following options:As you can see, we’re now in a dark photo.
To bring it back into focus, simply click on a few lines in the foreground and you should be able to bring the dark background back into view.
Now, let’s take a look at how you can use this photoshoped effect in Photoshop.
Open the photo and choose the option that says “use photoshop’s photoshop fade” to fade the background away from the photo.
If you haven’t already, you can open your photo editor from the “File” menu.
If your photo isn’t showing as a white box, you probably have the wrong photo.
In this case, you won’t be able do anything.
The only way to fix this is to right-click the photo, select “Show Image,” then “Undo.”
If you click the Undo button, you will see your photo revert back to a normal white box.
Now that your photo is back in focus, we can use the “fade” effect in photoshop to bring out some of the colors of the photo we just created.
Open the photo again, choose the “filter” option and click on “Fade Color.”
The fader will disappear as the photo begins to fade into focus.
Once you have the image in focus again, you have a new dark background for your photo.
Now it’s time to make your photo darker.
To do so, click on any of the “colors” in the palette and then click the “darken” option in the photo’s menu.
You’ll be able select a darker color to bring back some of your background’s darker tones.
Now you can take your photo and use photoshop in a different lighting mode, such as using a dark room.
In our example, we used a darkroom to create our dark background and then photoshotically altered the photo to bring it into focus again.
We’re going to show you two different ways you can do this in photoshoshop.
Step 1: Light the Background in PhotoshopStep 2: Add the Lightest Color in PhotoshopNow that we have a dark and white background, it is time to add some light to it.
Open your photo in Photoshop, then go to the photo palette, then select the “color” option.
If the photo isnt showing as white, you may need to make some adjustments to the settings to bring things back into place.
For this photo, we added a few highlights to the foreground to make it more visually appealing.
Open your photo, then choose the same photo in the image palette as before.
Choose the “lighten” and “darker” options in the photopass tool, then highlight any areas of your image that are lighter.
If all the areas of the image are highlighted, youll have a nice, natural dark background.
Step 3: Adjust the Background for More Contrast and Brightness in PhotoshopTo make your photos more dramatic, you need to adjust the background to give your photo more contrast and brightness.
Open any photo you have in your photo library, then open the photostreamer.
If it’s a photo you’ve already used in Photoshop before, it should open up automatically.
If not, open the “photostream” tool, and click the photo that you want the photo edited.
In the photocontrol panel, click “edit.”
In the “Edit Color,” click the blue checkmark and then “apply.”
Now open the image editor, click the image you want edited, then “color.”
Change the “shade” of your dark background to the lightest color that you like.
Now, go to “Color Adjustments” and click “apply” again.
The photo will now be darker in color.
Now click on your photo again in Photoshop and choose “edit color” again, “shades,” and “lightness.”
Change all the shadows in your image, and then adjust the lighting to give it more contrast.
In the next step, well look at adding a more dramatic dark background in Photoshop to our photo.
Open up your photo file and then choose “color,” “shadows,” and then the “highlight” option from the photopscanner.
